Lot of fun , I enjoy short contests and like the idea of working stations a
2nd time for fewer points. Steve K4JPN |
Worked K4BAI & WA7LNW, thought they were in CO. Called W0CQC about 50
times but nil sigs. Also called W0OOW, W0MPR, K0LWV , & K0ZK but nil sigs.
What the heck it was a nice copntest, just with folkes would sign / what ever so
you know which direction to point the antenna.

Condx were terrible. Much noice around .060. WA7LNW gets the big signal award W0OOW |
My first CQC QRP contest. Not very diligent about keeping the log,
especially the time. Georgia had a pipeline into Parker, CO. during the
whole contest. I heard K0ZK in Maine, but he could not hear me.
Bummer. Did not hear very many stations on the band. Suggest that
future contest web page instructions should include recommended frequencies, as
some participants may not know to go to 14.060, if that is the right place to
go. I also tried 14.040, but heard nothing there. Thanks. I
enjoyed this, and will try it again, hopefully with a better antenna than a
dipole up 18 feet.

Had a rough week with the basement being flooded. Sunday was my first
day I had to relax. I fell asleep on the chair and woke up in time for the
second hour of operation. I had a lot of fun and found it a challenge with
the weird propagation. QSB was bad but made it interesting. Thanks
to all for the QSO's from the new QTH.
