Forgot that stations could be contacted more than once until almost the end of the contest. I missed some easy points there. Missed the antenna class of W7OM, so missed some more points there. Tried to run them early in the contest, but after a couple of responders, nothing, so I returned to search and pounce. Still can't believe that I copied N5GW twice with him running only one watt. Heard WØCQC but he could not hear me. Also heard a Maine station quite distinctly, but he also could not hear me. This was my first effort in the Colorado Gold Rush. I enjoyed it immensely.

This was my first CQC
contest (actually the first qrp contest of any sort). There was a lot
more activity than I had expected --- a very pleasant surprise. I'll be
doing this again Russ, AK4GY |
